Brief Plot Summary of the Anime
Because he is fat, Park Hyung Seok is not a popular boy at school, and his classmates pick on and bother him every day. Park decided to leave his problem behind and start a new life because he had to deal with such oppression every day. He is moving to Seoul and plans to start high school there.
A few days before school starts, Park wakes up with a new body that is tall, muscular, and has all the qualities of being handsome. He found out right away that when one body is doing something, the other one goes to sleep. With his new body and new name, Daniel Park, he becomes an influencer on social media, an intern for an entertainment company, and a daytime clothing model.
Park soon learns that the world is a harsh place when he sees how much people treat people they think are ugly or different badly.
In November 2014, Park Tae-webcomic Joon’s Lookism started coming out every week on Naver WEBTOON. Tencent made a 38-episode Chinese TV drama series based on the story of the webcomic. It starred Lomon, Wayne Zhang, and Dino Lee. Later, at Netflix’s Tudum event, Studio Mir said they were going to animate Lookism. Ateez, one of the best-known K-Pop bands, sang “Like That” as the opening theme for the anime.
