Chinese Singer Jane Zhang Infected by Covid-19: is It Real?

Jane Zhang is a well-known Chinese singer and songwriter. When she said she gave herself the coronavirus on purpose, she got a lot of backlash on social media. Her shocking news comes at a time when the BF.7 Omicron variant has caused a huge rise in coronavirus cases in China. The singer said on social media that she purposely got the coronavirus by hanging out with friends who were sick. She wrote on Weibo that she had been to the homes of “sheep,” which is a term in mainland China for people who carry viruses.
What’s up? The singer wanted to get the virus so he could be ready for a New Year’s Eve show. Ms. Zhang said that she wanted to get the virus so that she wouldn’t get sick during the concert at the end of December. “I was worried that the virus would make it hard for me to perform on New Year’s Eve, so I met a group of people who had tested positive since I still had time to get better,” she wrote.

The 38-year-old singer also said that she went to sleep after getting a fever, a sore throat, and body aches. Zhang said that her symptoms were like those of a Covid patient, but that they only lasted for one day. “After a day and a night of sleep, all my symptoms went away… Before I got better, I just drank a lot of water and took vitamin C. I didn’t take any medicine.”

Since her post went viral, many people have criticized her for being insensitive and careless, especially since China is facing a Covid-19 surge at the same time. When the singer got criticism for what she did, she took down the controversial post on social media and apologized to the public.

“Before I made my previous posts, I didn’t give things enough thought. “I’m sorry to everyone,” she wrote on Weibo. “I was afraid that if I got sick at the concert, it would make it more likely that my coworkers would get sick again. So I thought since it’s going to happen anyway, why not get sick now when I don’t have to leave the house so I can go to work when I’m better? We would all be safer that way,” Zhang said.

SCMP says that the singer known as the “Dolphin Princess” has been a well-known music star in China since 2005 when she won a national singing contest.
