BCCI: India on the verge to go past Pakistan in T20I format

Jeremy Caroll

Arch-rivals Pakistan and India would once again fight in the upcoming T20 world cup. The previous loss against Pakistan did not just trigger the BCCI to re-consider the team balance but also made the Men in Blue start their T20I world cup campaign early with bilateral tours. However, one loss wouldn’t take away the praise for India as the team is all set to enter the elite list of teams that have achieved a phenomenal record of winning matches in T20I. India has so far played 157 matches and won 99 while Pakistan on the other hand, has won 117 matches while playing 189. The win percentage of team India is slightly higher than Pakistan. If India wins the second T20I against Sri Lanka in Dharamshala on Saturday, India will straightway enter the list of teams that have won more than 100 or more T20I matches.

Pakistan and India are placed atop followed by South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, placed at 3rd, 4th and 5th positions, respectively.
