India is in a driver’s seat after electing to bat first against Sri Lanka. India did not have a good start after losing Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari and Virat Kohli in quick succession but Rishabh Pant accelerated the team innings while partnering with Ravindra Jadeja. Pant scored 96 runs to sadly miss his century. Ravindra Jadeja on Day 2 continued to accelerate the inning and scored a century to score his highest knock in the test cricket format. Ashwin too stood on the crease, being credited with a fine half-century. The team presently is in a very strong position while on the other side, Kumara has been ruled out from the first match due to an injury, being short of one bowler. Sri Lanka currently has a massive target to chase before they put on a lead.
