ICC T20: KL Rahul fall by 4 ranks; retains position in top 10 batters

The limited overs’ vice-captain, being considered as captaincy material for future, has been in and out of the squad and even unable to cement his place into the side.

Lately, KL Rahul has been surrounded by a growing number of injuries which is forcing him out of the squad. The all-format specialist, KL hasn’t kickstarted 2022 on a fruitful note as after South African series loss under his captaincy has turned a setback when it was being predicted that India will create a history by beating South Africa in South Africa. Contrastingly, the South Africans were a better side than India. Later, after the return of Rohit Sharma, KL was again forced out of the squad for West Indies and Sri Lanka series.

In the recently released ICC rankings for batters, KL Rahul has dropped four places down but has retained his position in the top ten batters. The downfall of the rank suggests the form of the batter yet he has done a good job in England during the test series.
