India v/s Sri Lanka 1st Test: Rishabh Pant’s gritty 50* helps India build a solid total

Jeremy Caroll

Rishabh Pant‘s frequent promotion to number 4 is paying off well for India as the left-arm explosive batsman has yet again come to the rescue of the team when the Indian team looked in a spot of bother. India now looks in good control even after losing Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer. Credit to the Pant’s incredible control who didn’t seem bothered by Sri Lanka’s strict and disciplined efforts to send half-the-middle order line up to the pavilion. The left-handed batsman has scored 50 off 73 deliveries, helping India reach 273/5.
