The visitors have been humiliated with the poor performance by the team in the first innings. South Africa scored just 95 runs in the first innings of the 1st Test as Matt Henry dominated the game by taking 7 big wickets, marking his career-best figures.
New Zealand chose to bowl first, and they have effectively controlled the game in the first innings. There is nothing left in the game until the South African team gets back on track.
South Africa was unable to reach the 3-figured score and the maximum score by an individual was by Zubayr Hamza, who scored 25 runs.
Matt Henry sent captain Elgar back to the pavilion after he hit only one run, and the string of wickets continued, leaving South Africa at 52/5. New Zealand did not allow the game to slide away from them and maintained their domination, eventually bowling them all out for 95 runs.
An outstanding performance from New Zealand.
