IPL 2022 auction : There are 17 Indian players with a base price of Rs 2 crore

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a list of 590 cricketers who will be auctioned off in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13 at the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. 370 of the 590 players are Indian, with the remaining 220 being international cricketers. The 10 IPL franchises have previously retained a total of 33 players. Shikhar Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shardul Thakur were among the prominent inclusions with a base price of Rs 2 crore in the whole list. Despite having a shaky recent record, some of the players did raise eyebrows due to their hefty base price. Krunal Pandya and Suresh Raina, an experienced batter, were both included with the aforementioned base pricing.

In addition to the 17 Indian players in the Rs two crore bracket, the list also included 31 international players.

Twenty players cost Rs 1.5 crore, while 34 cricketers cost Rs one crore.

When the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and others go under the hammer, a fierce battle to acquire the services of some of the finest Indian cricket

Aside from the eight existing franchises, IPL 2022 will see the addition of two new ones: Lucknow Super Giants and the Ahmedabad team.
