Lucknow Super Giants wins the bidding war for Krunal Pandya, a left-handed all-rounder, for 8.25 crore, since the in-form all-rounder was among the 17 Indian players with a minimum bid of 2 crore.
Krunal has a total of 84 matches in the tournament with MI since making his debut in the 2016 season. With the help of one fifty, he has amassed 1143 runs at a strike rate of 138.54. In the meantime, he has 51 wickets to his name as a bowler. His outstanding performances for MI got him a call-up to the Indian national team, and he made his international debut in November 2018. Krunal has played 19 T20I matches for India since his 50-over debut in 2021, in addition to five ODIs.
In both IPL auctions in which he has participated, Pandya has emerged as one of the top picks. MI paid Rs 2 crore for a little-known Krunal in 2016. MI paid a whopping Rs 8.8 crore to secure his skills in 2018 using the Right to Match (RTM) card. He has spent six seasons with the Mumbai Indians (MI) and has won the IPL trophy three times in 2017, 2019, and 2020.
