Ravichandran Ashwin, a veteran Indian all-rounder, is signed by franchise – Rajasthan Royals for the interesting amount of ₹5 crore. Ashwin’s contribution to his new side, Rajasthan will undoubtedly benefit the franchise, as his extensive experience in the IPL format qualifies him as a successful all-rounder. Team Delhi Capitals attempted to purchase the experienced spinner as well, but RR was successful in acquiring the senior all-rounder Ashwin.

Ashwin has more than 150 IPL games under his belt, having begun with a basic pay of $18,000 in 2009. He has scored 456 runs in 63 innings and collected 145 tickets in 167 games.

Ashwin was a member of Dhoni’s team until 2015, when he moved to the Rising Pune Supergiants, who were also led by Dhoni for sometime. Later, Ashwin joined Punjab Kings and led the squad, which was deemed a flop and was later purchased by Delhi Capitals.

After last playing against New Zealand in 2021, Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is likely to return to the T20 format. With the T20 World Cup just 8 months away, Ashwin will hopefully make a comeback in the shortest format of the game.
