Indian bowler Umesh Yadav goes unsold at Mega auction 2022, despite fact that the exceptional talent was one of 17 Indian players with a base price of 2 crores.

Umesh Yadav has a number of devoted franchises behind him. However, it was the Delhi Daredevils who first recognised the talent and potential and signed Umesh for the 2010 season, during which he only appeared in a couple of games and had underwhelming statistics. He didn’t play in 2011, but came back in 2012 with a bang, taking 19 wickets and finishing fourth in wickets taken.

Before joining the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014, he had another successful stint with the Delhi franchise. Umesh went to KKR and subsequently won the IPL, with an 11-wicket contribution. The India bowler went on to become an important element of the KKR team as the Eden Gardens surface changed. Umesh took 48 wickets during his spell with Kolkata, which is still the fourth-highest total in the franchise’s history.

Umesh was let go for the 2018 edition, with the goal of building a future team. Royal Challengers Bangalore pounced on the opportunity and paid 4.2 crore for him. He quickly repaid the management’s faith in him by taking 20 wickets in his first season, and he was also retained for the following season. Umesh Yadav’s ability to bowl at the death overs is still a question.
