IPL Mega Auction 2022: No IPL for Saurabh Tiwary this season, goes unsold

Saurabh Tiwary goes unsold in IPL mega auction 2022 at Bengaluru.

In the 2008 Indian Premier League, he played for the Mumbai Indians. He was termed a left-handed version of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the IPL 2010 after becoming a regular player for them.

He was named the Under-23 player of the tournament for the IPL 2010 while playing for the Mumbai Indians, scoring 419 runs in 16 matches at an average of 29.92 and a strike rate of 135.59. Royal Challengers Bangalore paid US$1.6 million to recruit him for the 2011 Indian Premier League. He was signed by Delhi Daredevils for 70 lakh Indian rupees in the 2014 IPL auction. Imran Tahir was brought in to replace Tiwary, who was out due to a shoulder injury. Tiwary and Albie Morkel were traded by the Delhi Daredevils to the Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2016 IPL. He made two promising half century in the 2016 IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.

He was purchased for 30 lakhs by the Mumbai Indians squad in February 2017 for the 2017 Indian Premier League.On May 13, 2017, he struck a half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Mumbai Indians in January 2018.  He was purchased by the Mumbai Indians in the 2020 IPL auction ahead of the Indian Premier League.
