All American Season 4: Finally The Release Date Is Announced!

All American Season 4 is nearing its end, which is fortunate given the amount of drama we’re currently dealing with.

All American is based on the true story of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger, and follows Spencer James, a Compton high school student who is recruited to play football for Beverly High in Beverly Hills.

The CW’s teen sports drama has been so successful that a spin-off, All American: Homecoming, is also in the works.

But what exactly is going on with the main show, and when can we expect to see it return? Everything you need to know about the upcoming episodes is right here.

All American Season 4 Premiere Date: When Will It Return to the Air?

All American is already on the air in the United States, and it is steadily approaching its conclusion on April 18, following a rather dramatic prom night.

The show took a midseason break before returning in February, and it will now run until the end of the season.

Unfortunately, the UK has yet to receive an official release date as of April 2022. But we’ll keep you posted if we learn anything else.

Who’s in the cast of All American Season 4?

All American season 4

The cast is led by British actor Daniel Ezra, who plays Spencer James, a rising football star from South Los Angeles who is well-meaning but frequently gets himself into trouble in order to protect others.

He is joined by:

  • Samantha Logan as Olivia Baker
  • Taye Diggs as Billy Baker
  • Bre-Z as Tamia ‘Coop’ Cooper
  • Greta Onieogou as Layla Keating
  • Michael Evans Behling as Jordan Baker
  • Cody Christian as Asher Adams
  • Karimah Westbrook as Grace James
  • Monét Mazur as Laura Fine-Baker
  • Jalyn Hall as Dillon James
  • Chelsea Tavares as Patience
“One of the main reasons I took the role was because I had never even considered playing a coach, even though I’ve loved watching these sports movies and have watched so many of them with my son,” Diggs explained (via PopCulture).

“It just seemed like the universe was kind of setting me up because, with my son being as athletic as he is, it was just the icing on the cake to be able to watch a programme like this, the subject matter.”

And for him to see me in that role only strengthens our bond because, as anyone can imagine, it’s difficult to stay cool when you’ve got cool kids. So that has unquestionably aided me.” And Diggs has a pretty good theory about why the show is so popular.

“I think it’s just where we are as a culture right now, where we are creatively right now.” I believe the pandemic played a role, as did the fact that people were stuck at home looking for really good television.

“I believe the cast is extremely talented. I believe that diversity plays a role. And I have a feeling that right now, and this is just speculation on my part, people are going after exactly what they want. There’s a lot out there. Nobody wants to be told what to watch. I think it’s great that people can choose, and luckily, they’ve chosen us. To say the least, we’re grateful.”

What Will Happen In The Season 4?

All American season 4

With graduation approaching, the second half of season four will follow Spencer as he tries to finish high school relatively unscathed. But, given his involvement in the trophy heist and his refusal to snitch on any of the other players, that will be difficult.

Spencer Paysinger, on whom the main character is based, went on to play college football at Oregon. Whatever happens, we’ll most likely be on our way to the next major stop.

Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the showrunner, will also continue to cover other real-life issues, such as the Black Lives Matter movement, which received a special episode in season three.

“You hope that what you’re doing is making a difference, and my goal for this episode was that it would hopefully lead to people understanding the pain and that we’re at the point where enough is enough,” Okoro Carroll said at the time (via Entertainment Weekly).

“But I’m not sure.” Nothing seems to make a difference some of the time. I try not to be discouraged by this, and I try to incorporate the authentic truth of it into the show, because we take pride in these characters authentically portraying what it’s like to be a young person, particularly a Black young person, in America today. And we’re hoping it makes a difference.”

Let’s hope that if the subject is revisited in season four, it won’t be at the same unsettling time.

“I never in a million years thought this episode would air days after another young Black teen was murdered by a cop,” Okoro Carroll continued.

“I had no idea it would air so soon after the Derek Chauvin trial.” I didn’t expect it to air so soon after Adam Toledo’s murder. It’ll feel like I wrote it last week, which breaks my heart because it means we haven’t made the progress I had hoped for.”
