Arcane Season 2 : Was Anyone Able to Withstand the Rocket Attack?

Jeremy Caroll

Arcane season 2 : The animated series Arcane premiered in November 2021 and became an instant hit for Netflix due to its captivating story (and one hell of a cliffhanger ending).

Since then, fans (and we) have been eager to learn everything and everything about the show’s future, including its second season and beyond.

Thankfully, we now have some answers, and while we anticipate a bit of a wait, we know it will be worthwhile.

Arcane recounts the origins of people from utopian society Piltover and repressed undercity Zaun, featuring sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell).

Steinfeld has subsequently starred in Marvel’s series Hawkeye, joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kate Bishop, a young want tobe superhero Hawkeye mentors. In Dickinson, in which she portrayed a young Emily Dickinson, she has also garnered accolades.

During the six years it took to create the first season of Arcane, Christian Linke and Alex Yee hired her as the voice of Vi, despite the fact that she was less well-known at the time.

“In many situations, the individuals we decided to collaborate with were not as prominent at the time as they ultimately were,” Yee told One Esports.

“It was great to see how many of the talents we’ve chosen to work with over the years have flourished in a variety of genres and projects,” Linke added.

Ella Purnell, who recently wowed audiences in Yellowjackets and voices Jinx, was another discovery. “We are all aware of her role in the game,” added Yee. “However, we wanted to give her an extra layer so that the audience could understand the subtle and genuine individual underneath Jinx’s bright, flashy façade, and I believe Ella did a great job with that.”

So… what’s next for the series, and who’s making a return? Here is what we currently know.

When Will the Second Season of Arcane Premiere?

Arcane Season 2

Netflix confirmed that work on the second season of Arcane began in November 2021.

Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent stated in a tweet that the initial series took six years to produce, but that the wait for the second season should not be as long:

However, it will be difficult to accelerate a six-year process, so please do not expect it until at least 2023. (at the earliest).

Co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee remarked, “We’re ecstatic with the good response to Arcane’s first season and are collaborating with the creative magicians at Riot and Fortiche to produce the second instalment.”

Season one featured a unique structure in which three episodes were released simultaneously; you can expect season two to have the same pattern when it arrives.

As reported by Yee (via Superpixel). “Regarding its release schedule, this was a concept we had from the beginning. We created the story with the concept of triplets in mind. You feel like you get a substantial portion every three episodes, and the conclusion of every third episode typically has significant moments.

“With shows that are more in the half-hour range, I believe that having only one each week does not provide enough content. And if we release it all at once, it is astonishing how quickly it may be viewed.

“In addition, Riot intended for this to be an event; they wanted fans to be able to congregate and guess, as well as unlock in-game tasks and missions while watching.

This itinerary provided the best of both worlds. You don’t have to wait too long to finish everything, and every time we release a new batch of episodes, we hope there’s enough content for you to feel like “we got to sit down together and enjoy a whole viewing experience.””

Who Will Be Featured in Arcane Season 2?

Arcane Season 2

The following season one voice actors will return for the second season:

In the meantime, a teaser from Arcane’s team has fans wondering if an intriguing new addition to the series is forthcoming.

The teaser contains no new scenes, only dialogue, but the most important part is at the end: Arcane fans believe they can hear the mechanical heartbeat of League of Legends’ champion Warwick, a part-werewolf, part-machine who has no memory of his life before he was experimented on in Singed’s laboratory.

What Will Occur in Arcane Season 2?

The season one finale was indeed exciting and left many narrative lines for season two to explore.

As a result of Silco’s death, Zaun no longer has a leader, and it is unclear who could take his place. Jinx, a potential contender, is out of control, so Vi, the adopted daughter of Zaun’s late leader Vander, may have to assume leadership.

There is currently no information regarding who would voice Warwick in season two, but check back for updates.

At the end of the episode, Jinx caused a major problem by pointing a rocket launcher at the Council building, just as those inside were voting to enact a bill granting Zaun independence. Her act of rage could spark a war between Piltover and Zaun, and it is unknown whether any survivors of the explosion can corroborate that the vote for independence was actually successful.

It is also unlikely that Jinx and her sister Vi will be reunited anytime soon. Vi initially desired to restore her connection with Jinx, but witnessing your sibling shoot a rocket at a populated building may be difficult to overcome.

Reed Shannon has plot expectations for upcoming seasons (via CBR). “I’d love to watch Mel and Ekko interact. That would be ridiculous… I was intrigued by the fact that race is not mentioned between the people in Arcane due to the disparity in wealth between the top city and the undercity.

Arcane Season 2

“Consequently, I would love to observe how identical-looking people interact. Exists such a thing, or is everyone simply present? I would also enjoy seeing them communicate because Ekko is so intelligent and she would say, “Oh, you could be used…” We could return you to Noxus, where you could construct anything enormous.’ That would be quite fascinating.”

Certainly, it would. There is a possibility that Shannon will see his dreams realised on the big screen.

Linke told Superpixel, “We want to convey more stories.” “There will be more topics we want to explore, regardless of whether it’s a TV show or a film. Similar to Arcane, we did not initially intend for it to become a television show or something. We simply decided, “Okay, we adore these characters.” Here is the tale we are going to tell.

“Then, as time passed, we realised that we need the length of a television show to get as in-depth as we like – Vi and Jinx, Victor and Jayce, etc. However, there may be a story in the future that will be in film format. When I investigate this in-depth, I believe we have plans to tell a great deal more stories. I believe the answer is affirmative; there will be.”

When Will the Arcane Season 2 Trailer Be Released?

Production on the second season has just begun, so it will be some time before fresh footage is released. Anticipate a trailer late in 2022, ideally after the premiere date of the second season has been confirmed.

In the interim, at least we have the season one trailer. The first season of Arcane is stream able on Netflix.
