While the exact date of production is still unknown, we do know that Jeff Loveness, who wrote the script for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, is penning the script.

Avengers the Kang Dynasty Cast: Who Could Be in It?

Given the title of the film, Jonathan Majors will probably play Kang the Conqueror. Majors made his acting debut in Loki as He Who Remains, and in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania he will play Kang. Actor Simu Liu from Shang-Chi appeared to confirm that his character will feature in The Kang Dynasty in an interview with Comicbook.com on November 10.

I’m so delighted to get to work for him again,” Liu said after expressing his delight that Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, has been chosen to helm the upcoming Avengers film.

The rest of the cast hasn’t been revealed officially, although there are some logical guesses that may be made. It is safe to assume that any of the characters listed below will appear in the Avengers movie:

  • Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk
  • Chris Hemsworth as Thor

  • Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange
  • Benedict Wong as Wong
  • Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff
  • Tom Hiddleston as Loki

  • Danai Gurira as Okoye
  • Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
  • Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp
  • Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie
  • Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova

Avengers the Kang Dynasty Plot: What is It About?

The Kang Dynasty is hard to come by. We already know that the eponymous antagonist will be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the unpublished Comic-Con trailer for the sequel suggested Kang’s arrival in the Quantum Realm. The real question is, are we certain that’s Kang?

In the Loki season 1 finale, a Loki version, Sylvie, killed He That Remains, unleashing a universe of Kangas who appear to be bent on total timeline dominance. Given that the upcoming Avengers film’s title includes the word “Dynasty,” we should expect a slew of different Kangas to go to battle with both the Avengers and each other.

Avengers The Kang Dynasty Release Date: Is It Confirmed or Cancelled?

Kang has already been teased as a villain by Kevin Feige. “What I like about [Kang] is that he is very different from Thanos. He is entirely unique. It’s not simply that there’s a bigger purple guy with a helmet; Kang isn’t like that “According to Feige, ComicBook (opens in new tab).

“Kang is a really different type of villain, and the fact that he is many, many different personas is what excites and distinguishes him the most.”

Let’s go on to the comics: From 2000 to 2001, a story titled The Kang Dynasty saw Kang take over the Earth by destroying the United Nations and then teaming up with a slew of villains, including Eternals’ foes the Deviants and the underwater armies of Atlantis, and promising them various parts of the planet.

Kang then travels into the future to see how the Avengers may stop him, only to return to the present and derail their plans. Kang quickly gains control of the globe.

The Avengers reassemble and launch an attack from orbit, only to fail. Only when The Wasp rallies the other villains and turns them on Kang do the superheroes succeed in saving the day. Of course, the story is much more complicated than that, and you can read our in-depth look at the Kang Dynasty in the comics here.
