NBA star Iman Shumpert triumphantly left with the prized Mirrorball trophy in the Dancing with the Stars season 30 finale. Who will therefore be the next famous contestant to win over the judges and viewers of DWTS in season 31? The most pressing query is that.
The ABC primetime program has been one of the network’s most popular programs since its debut 17 years ago. Even so, it seems like there will be many changes before the new season debuts later this fall. Fans are as excited as ever as the show enters its 31st season, and many are eager to watch to see which new A-listers and professional dancers will grace the ballroom.
When Will the 31st Season of Dancing With the Stars Begin?
Season 31 of Dancing With the Stars will begin on Disney+ on Monday, September 19. One significant change should be noted: season 31 of Dancing With the Stars will air exclusively on Disney+ rather than on Monday nights on ABC. This will be the country’s first reality program to stream live, according to Deadline.

The new season of Dancing With the Stars will be significantly different from the ABC version, though a specific time has not yet been set. The episodes of Dancing With the Stars 2022 won’t have commercial breaks, according to TVLine. DWTS season 32 may not, however, be the same given that Disney+ will launch its ad-supported tier on December 8. This typically occurs when the competition show has already ended. According to a Disney+ representative quoted by TVLine, “no decision has been made.”
Who is in the Season 31 Cast of Dancing With the Stars?
Less than two weeks prior to the show’s return, the DWTS season 30 cast announcement was made in early September 2021 on Good Morning America. For DWTS season 29, the situation was similar. Fans can watch GMA on September 8 to learn who was chosen for the Dancing With the Stars season 31 cast.
We wouldn’t be surprised if, up until that point, viewers had already begun formulating their own theories about who might join the Dancing With the Stars season 31 cast.
Who does Will serve as the Judge for Dancing With the Stars?
Len Goodman, a judge on Dancing With the Stars, returned to the competition program this past fall after being unable to film during season 29. (He was unable to travel from the U.K. to L.A. and serve as a panelist full-time due to the coronavirus pandemic.) In response to this, Derek Hough, a former DWTS professional, filled in.
As everyone is aware, Len and Derek returned for season 30 to provide their ratings and commentary alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. For season 31, we anticipate that all four judges will be back!
Who Will Be the Season 31 Host of Dancing With the Stars?
In September 2020, Tyra Banks became a host and executive producer for season 29 of DWTS. She took over for longtime hosts Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron.
Tyra revealed on July 14 that she will host Dancing With the Stars season 31 again, but she won’t be hosting the show by herself. Alfonso Ribeiro, the winner of Mirrorball during DWTS season 19, will co-host with the former supermodel. Alfonso posted an Instagram video congratulating himself on his new job after the news was announced on Good Morning America, and Tyra was in it.

According to Deadline, he said in a statement, “Dancing with the Stars has been such an important part of my life for so many years, and I am ecstatic to officially re-join this tight-knit family as co-host.” As we begin this new season on Disney+, “Tyra and I have a longstanding friendship that I hope will resonate with all of the fans at home.”
Tyra continued, “I’ve known Alfonso since I was 19 and he always makes me smile whenever I see him. “I feel blessed to have such a fun-loving, devoted friend as a cohost. Additionally, he has won the competition before, so he is aware of the struggles the stars face. It will be so much fun to exchange jabs with him in person!
How Will the New Season of Dancing With the Stars Be Broadcast or Streamed in 2022?
The most recent season of Dancing With the Stars will only be available to stream on Disney+, despite the fact that the ballroom competition was previously available on Hulu.
You can subscribe to Disney+ and get unrestricted entertainment for $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. As an alternative, you can buy The Disney Bundle, which is cheaper than buying each subscription separately and includes subscriptions to Disney+, ESPN+, and the Hulu plan you choose. If you decide to purchase The Disney Bundle, the package is offered through Hulu for either $13.99 per month with ads or $19.99 per month without ads.
