According to Walter Jones of “MMPR,” who played the black ranger, “He served as an example for a lot of people. We will be sorely missing his presence. Another member of our Ranger family passing away is extremely tragic.”
He says, “One of the biggest practical jokers on the show was Jason. He had an outrageous sense of humor. Even though we experienced ups and downs, I consistently offered to lend him my ear. One of the original “Power Rangers,” I send my sympathies to his family and everyone who will miss him “TMZ discovered that — has passed away.
According to Justine Hunt, the actor and mixed martial artist passed away in Texas. His suicide was the cause of death, according to sources with firsthand knowledge.
JDF is best known for playing Tommy Oliver in the original run of the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” franchise, which began with the kid’s show’s debut in 1993. Tommy Oliver was one of six crime/monster-fighting superheroes who were masked from head to toe and had kung-fu skills when he was introduced.
Fans will recall that he initially appeared as the Green Ranger in Season 1, where he was initially presented as the Power Rangers’ opponent before making a 180-degree turn and turning nice. However, when his abilities begin to decline, he is transformed into the White Ranger and appointed as the new commander of the team.

Over the course of 3 seasons and 123 episodes, Frank played one of the main characters. In subsequent Power Rangers adaptations, including “Wild Force,” “Turbo,” “Zeo,” “Dino Thunder,” “Megaforce,” “Ninja Steel,” “HyperForce,” and others, Frank went on to reprise his role as Tommy. He has alternated between being the Red, Black, and Green Rangers.
Fighting Spirit is my favorite “Tommy” episode.

JDF is a fan favorite Power Ranger, which explains why he keeps coming back to the series. His on-screen combat prowess carried over into the real world… Frank was a skilled MMA fighter with a background in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and other combative arts.
From 2008 until 2010, he engaged in professional combat. Justine, Jason’s agent, said to TMZ “As we cope with the death of such a lovely person, kindly respect the privacy of his family and friends during this terrible time. His admirers, friends, and family were all very dear to him. He’ll be genuinely missed.”
His four children are still alive.
