Story Summary

little people big world release date

The series follows the Roloffs, a unique family made up of both small and average-sized people, in the most in-depth television documentary about the lives of Little People. The series followed the family’s daily accomplishments and challenges for six months, at a rate of ten hours each day. As a result, we get an up-close look at what it’s like to be a Little Person. Matt and Amy Roloff, both 4 feet tall, are motivated to thrive in a world that isn’t always welcoming of differences.

Matt has worked his way up the corporate ladder, closing deals with some of the most well-known corporations in Silicon Valley. Matt chose to pursue his ambition of starting his own company after getting laid off. Amy has four children: 15-year-old twins Jeremy and Zach (Jeremy is of average height and Zach is a small person), 12-year-old Molly, and 8-year-old Jacob.

Amy used to be a stay-at-home parent, but she now works two jobs. Roloff Farms is a huge 34-acre farm in Oregon that they own and operate together. The Roloffs’ achievements conceal a harsh reality: every day is a struggle for little people. Driving a car, looking over the counter at a bank, or even going to the grocery store may rapidly turn into a challenge in a world that wasn’t built for them. Viewers get a glimpse inside the lives of the Roloffs as they deal with the pressures of being small in a big world in Little People, Big World.
