The Rig is an upcoming horror thriller series on Amazon Prime Video, directed by John Strickland (Bodyguard, Line Of Duty), that follows the crew on the fictional Kinloch Bravo oil rig stationed off the coast of Scotland in the perilous North Sea.
When the party of employees is scheduled to return to the mainland, a spooky fog develops and a mysterious entity begins to take control, cutting off all communication with the outside world. Then, unimaginable terrors begin to strike the rig.
As the crew attempts to determine what is driving this unknown force, a catastrophic tragedy forces them to evaluate whom they can truly rely on. Relationships are severed, allegiances are forged, and generational fault lines are revealed. Both the loyalty and endurance of the crew of the Kinloch Bravo are pushed to their limits.
Release Date of Rig
The six episodes of The Rig will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries in 2022, but while the thriller is still in production, no official release date has been announced.

However, there is a video conversation in which Emily Hampshire and Martin Compston discuss The Rig. Emily, a Schitt’s Creek actor, admits that her Scottish co-star Martin has converted her to Irn Bru.

Where is the Rig Shot?
The Rig will be the first Amazon Original Series to be entirely filmed in Scotland. Production will also take place at FirstStage Studios, a new studio complex created at Leith docks by BAFTA-winning producer Bob Last and Jason Connery, son of the late James Bond actor Sean Connery. The studio buildings in Edinburgh originally housed the engineering company VA Tech. They were utilized to create the Disney/Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War in 2017.
