Spiderhead Storyline

The narrative components are reminiscent of Claire Denis’s film High Life, in which inmates were repurposed as makeshift spacers and given the last chance to contribute to the advancement of science and mankind before being dispatched on one-way tickets. It should come as no surprise that science unrestrained by ethics would inevitably devolve into a chaotic jumble of crazy. A few weeks after the release of Top Gun: Maverick, Spiderhead is scheduled to hit theatres. Despite the humorous spark that is typically associated with this group, the writing duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) have given Spiderhead a deadly serious tone. Reese and Wernick are no strangers to Netflix; in fact, they wrote the film 6 Underground, which was a collaboration between Michael Bay (Transformers) and Ryan Reynolds.

Trailer for Spiderhead

A sense of science fiction from the 1970s is conjured up in the trailer that was published on May 17; “Les Fleurs” by Minnie Riperton may have contributed to this effect. The topics appear to largely revolve around the famous quote from Jeff Goldblum’s character in Jurassic Park, which says, “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they never paused to think if they should.”
