“Superstore” Seasons 1-6 are leaving Netflix and will not be available from January 2023

The Netflix streaming service will no longer carry the NBC original smash American comedic series Superstore.’ From November 30, 2015, to March 25, 2021, NBC produced up to six seasons.

Now that the show has concluded, it may as well be unavailable to watch on Netflix. If you haven’t finished the series yet or have just added it to your list, we’re sorry to notify you that you won’t be able to watch it until January 2023.

If you’re new here and haven’t heard of Superstore, it’s an American sitcom television series that follows a group of employees at Cloud 9, a fictional big-box retail store in St. Louis, Missouri.

Is Superstore S1-S6 Coming to Other Streaming Services?

"Superstore" Seasons 1-6 are leaving Netflix and will not be available from January 2023

Now that we know the show is leaving Netflix, there is no word on whether it will be available on any other streaming provider. Given that the show finished more than a year ago, we feel it will be impossible to watch it again beyond 2022.

Can the Show Superstore Be Saved?

Despite the fact that the successful sitcom series has come to an end, we feel it is reasonable to assume that the distributors would explore developing a spin-off series based on the original Superstore series. This is because the show had a significant fan base.

Why is Superstore Leaving Netflix?

In January 2021, Netflix acquired licences for the series in over 27 countries, with the majority of those markets licencing seasons 1-5 of Superstore. 11 months and one day later, on December 15th, 2021, Netflix was granted the licence to broadcast the sixth and final season of their original series.

The United Kingdom, Australia, India, and Canada were among the nations that have obtained licences to broadcast the show; however, all of those nations are currently displaying removal notices.

Although the show did not become an enormous hit after it was made available on Netflix around the world, it did quite well in certain countries, including Canada, Australia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, and it has been featured in those countries’ top 10s for 231 days since January 2021.

Superstore Release Date

The NBC sitcom, which has been airing since 2015, was created by Justin Spitzer and stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, and Colton Dunn as workers at a big-box retailer.

Superstore’s last season, which had its final 15 episodes, started running towards the end of October 2020 and just finished on NBC on March 25th, 2021.

Netflix Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Iceland, and South Africa will all receive access to seasons 1 through 5 in January 2021.

Sadly, it will not be possible to accurately anticipate Superstore’s release date. Normally, the first episode of an NBC show is licenced by Netflix for worldwide distribution, but in this case, all five seasons were released simultaneously.

However, we can draw inspiration from the other successful NBC programme that will be available on Netflix abroad. In that instance, new seasons are normally added in March, around a year after the season’s debut and usually just before or right after the current one is scheduled to air.

For the majority of territories, our best working assumption states that Superstore season 6 will likely debut in January 2022, one year after they licenced seasons 1 through 5.

Thankfully, we now know that season 6 of Superstore will debut on December 15th thanks to an update on the Netflix app for the UK (other areas may vary). As soon as we learn more about additional regions, we’ll let you know.
