Wheel of Time Season 2 Release Date: Will Prime Video Renew This Series in May 2022?

Wheel of Time Season 2

Wheel of Time Season 2: Season 2 of The Wheel of Time is coming to Amazon Prime, and it cannot arrive soon enough after the conclusion of the first season during the holidays (while proving to be quite popular). While fans of the book on which the show is based were divided, the episode itself was a mishmash.

Nonetheless, Amazon is on track to release Season 2 later this year. We do not yet have a release date for the next instalment, but we do have some information about it. We have recently learned that a new cast member has been added to the show. Here is everything we currently know about “The Wheel of Time” season 2.

Season Two of The Wheel of Time: Cast

Wheel of Time Season 2

The second season of The Wheel of Time will bring new and extended characters, as well as a whole new ensemble. There are several speculations as to why Barney Harris will no longer represent Mat, but none of them have been confirmed.

Harris has been replaced by Dónal Finn, who you may recognise from The Witcher or How to Build a Girl. Other characters, such as Guy Roberts’s one-eyed soldier Uno Nomesta from the last series, will have recurring roles. Arnas Federavicius portrays Masema Dagar, a converted soldier-prophet (The Last Kingdom).

In the Netflix series Young Wallander, Ceara Coveney portrays Elayne Trakand. She is an incredibly powerful Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. Natasha O’Keefe and Meera Syal (Yesterday, The Kumars) will also feature as characters with unclear identities.

Rafe Judkins confirmed to Deadline Hammed Animashaun’s comeback as Loial. Unbeknownst to fans, Ogier and the rest of the cast have been filming in Prague.

In the series, some characters from the novels will perish. Thus, even avid readers may be shocked. Judkins desires that the show have eight seasons so that they can cover the major plot arcs of Robert Jordan’s fourteen novels.

Season 2 of The Wheel of Time: Plot

Wheel of Time Season 2

The first season of the Wheel of Time television series revealed that, rather than following the events of the books in chronological order, the programme uses elements from other books to assist the narrative flow. This makes it more difficult to forecast where the show will go next.

Some of the show’s actors have hinted to the upcoming season during interviews. Kate Fleetwood alluded at the growth of Liandrin Guirale’s darker side during a panel at JordanCon 2022.

“I’ve particularly appreciated Liandrin’s fun,” Fleetwood added. “However, Liandrin has a deeper, darker side, as well as her own personal history.” She continued, “I’ve been able to immerse myself in the second season, which has been a tremendous treat… Season 2 will undoubtedly have some surprises.”

Daniel Henney, who portrays Allan Mandragoran, has hinted that the second season will be scarier than the first. “It’s hard for me not to reveal too much,” he said, “but I’ll say this: two swords, numerous Fades, and blood… plenty of blood.”

Aside from that, we are excited that the second season will continue to explore the Dragon Born’s ancestry, and we look forward to seeing Rand grow into his new role.

The rest of the Two Rivers group is still attempting to determine their role in the plot. This will undoubtedly reveal a great deal more about Perrin’s wolf brother abilities. Mat will return to the plot (with his new actor), and we anticipate that he will continue his shenanigans with old artefacts, so exposing more about the past.

In the conclusion of the first season, we also catch a glimpse of the Seanchan. The mighty maritime empire will likely pose a threat throughout the upcoming season. The burgeoning love triangle between Lan, Moiraine, and Nynaeve will undoubtedly receive considerable screen time.
