What is the Plotline of Maybe I Do?
Maybe I Do is a comedy of errors arising from two couples’ complicated relationships. Michelle and Allen are a couple who want to take their relationship to the next level.
In other words, they want to marry, but before they do so, their parents want to meet and get to know each other’s families. Isn’t he the Father of the Bride? What they don’t realize (but will soon discover) is that their parents know each other quite well. And not in a friendly or social way.
The parents have been having an affair with each other’s spouse, as revealed in the trailer. As a result, their view of marriage as a concept and their children’s decision to marry is not what the children expected.

With a star-studded ensemble cast, Maybe I Do stars Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Emma Roberts, Luke Bracey and William H. Macy in a multi-generational romantic comedy. Michelle (Roberts) and Allen (Bracey) have reached the point in their relationship to take the next steps toward marriage. Thinking it is a good idea to invite their parents to finally meet, they set a dinner and make it a family affair. To everyone’s surprise, the affair takes on a whole new meaning as the parents already know each other all too well – they’ve been cheating on their spouses for months…with each other. Trapped in this precarious predicament, they try to hide their dalliances from the kids while confronting their spouse’s lovers head-on. Let the games begin!

Keaton’s next film will be the rom-com Book Club 2 – The Next Chapter, the sequel to 2018’s popular comedy drama Book Club, which also stars Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen. Gina Jun, Natalie Ortega, Azriel Patricia, and Kirk Kelly are among the cast members of Maybe I Do.
