Jorden Clarkson (born June 7, 1992) is a professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. Clarkson is of Filipino descent and was raised in California (NBA). He played two seasons of collegiate basketball for Tulsa before moving to Missouri, where he was named to the Southeastern Conference’s second-team all-conference team in his sophomore season (SEC).

Clarkson was taken by the Washington Wizards in the second round of the 2014 NBA draught with the 46th overall selection after bypassing his final year of college to enter the draught. He was immediately traded to the Los Angeles Lakers after being selected by the Wizards.

Jordan Taylor Clarkson was born in Tampa, Florida, to African-American Mike Clarkson and Annette Tullao Davis, who is of part-Filipino ancestry. Davis’ mother, Marcelina Tullao Kingsolver, was born in Bacolor, Pampanga, Philippines, and raised in the United States.

In addition to serving in the United States Air Force, Clarkson’s parents were divorced while Clarkson was a child. Clarkson’s father eventually remarried, and the couple had a son, Clarkson Jr. Around the age of six, he and his family relocated to San Antonio, Texas.

High School Career

Karen Wagner High School in San Antonio was where he received his education. While receiving honorable mention of all-district recognition as a sophomore, he scored 10 points per game in his first season. For the season, he averaged 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game to help his team to a 32–8 record to the Class 5A state semifinals.
Clarkson signed a National Letter of Intent to play collegiate basketball at the University of Tulsa on November 11, 2009, which was the first day of the 2009-2010 season.

Senior season statistics: 18.9 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, guiding his team to a 38–2 record and a semi-final appearance in the state championship. In addition, he was selected as the San Antonio High School Player of the Year.

Prior to that, Clarkson was chosen to the Conference USA All-Rookie team in his freshman season at Tulsa, where he had previously been awarded Conference USA Freshman of the Week four times during the 2010–11 season. In 27 games (nine starts), he averaged 11.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 24.9 minutes per game while playing 24.9 minutes per game last season.

During his sophomore season, he has selected to the All-Conference USA first team as well as the NABC All-District 11 team, among other honors.
