In 2004, she was cast alongside fellow Laguna Beach High School classmates Lo Bosworth, Kristin Cavallari, and Stephen Colletti in the MTV reality television series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The show chronicled their high school experiences, with the first season focusing on the love triangle between Conrad, Cavallari, and Colletti.

Conrad attended one semester at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she met Heidi Montag, after which she transferred to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.

Conrad left “Laguna Beach” after the second season, and in 2006, filming on “The Hills” began.
