Ronda Rousey Net Worth: Ronda Rousey was born in Riverside County, California on February 1, 1987. Due to her umbilical cord being wrapped around her neck at birth, Rousey struggled with a speech impairment for the first six years of her life. Her parents relocated from Riverside to Jamestown, North Dakota, when she was three years old so that she could get specialised and intense speech treatment at Minot State University. AnnaMaria De Mars, her mother, was the first American woman to win the World Judo Championship. In addition, while raising her girls, her mother obtained a Ph.D. at the University of California, Riverside. In 1995, her biological father, Ron Rousey, committed suicide after breaking his back sledding and learning he would be paraplegic. Rousey was 8 years of age. Rousey dropped out of high school and eventually received her General Equivalency Diploma.

Judo Career

Rousey began practising Judo with her mother at the age of 11, when she was just 11 years old. Her mother trained her until she was 13 years old, after which she hired a professional trainer. Rousey was the youngest judo competitor at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, having qualified at the age of seventeen.

She went on to become the first American athlete to win two medals at the Junior World Championships. In February 2007, Ronda increased her weight class to 70 kilogrammes, where she ranked among the top three female Judo fighters in the world.

In 2008, Rousey became the first American to win an Olympic medal in Judo when she won the Bronze in the Beijing Olympics. Rousey retired from Judo at age 21 following her Olympic triumph. After that, she rented a studio apartment in Venice Beach with a roommate and supported herself by working three bartending and cocktail waiting jobs.

Mixed Martial Arts Career

Rousey began competing on the mixed martial arts circuit in 2010 with Team Hayastan, two years after her victory in 2009. She also trained at the Glendale Fighting Club under Edmond Tarverdyan, an MMA coach. She also studied Jiu-Jitsu with Henry Akins at Dynamix MMA from 2011 to 2014.

Rousey made her debut in mixed martial arts in August 2010. She quickly defeated Hayden Munoz with an armbar. Using her famous armbar, Rousey destroyed ALL of her opponents in less than one minute. Rousey stated that her mother leapt on her every morning to wake her up with an armbar, hence the origin of her signature move.

Ronda fought Holly Holm on November 15, 2015, in the main event of UFC 193. Due to Holms’ high kicking methods, Ronda was unable to bring Holly to the ground, despite the support of her fans. Holm knocked out Rousey with a high kick to the neck, ultimately ending Rousey’s reign as champion and resulting in her first defeat.

Rousey was medically banned by the UFC with a 60-day no-contact ban and no fights, and she would have to clear CT scan results to have her suspension shortened. Rousey was not approved for competition until December 8, 2015.

She fought champion Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 207 on December 30, 2016, but was defeated in 48 seconds of the first round. In July of 2018, Ronda Rousey was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Wrestling Career

She promotes numerous brands, including Monster headphones, Carl’s Jr., Reebok, Metro PCS, and others. Unfortunately, Ronda’s luck ran out on November 16, 2015, when she was easily defeated by Holly Holm at UFC 193.

Ronda made $14 million in 2015 via prizes, PPV earnings, endorsements, and media appearances. Ronda was paid $3 million merely to show up for her fight against Amanda Nunes on December 30, 2016.
