Tom Brady was born in San Mateo, California on August 3, 1977 to a family of sports enthusiasts. He is the fourth child and only son of Galynn and Thomas Brady. His older sisters are named Nancy, Julie, and Maureen. His upbringing was Catholic.
Growing up, he and his family attended San Francisco 49ers games. He was a Joe Montana enthusiast. He was a lifelong supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.
As a child, he attended football camp at the College of San Mateo, where future NFL quarterback Tony Graziani taught him how to throw the football.
In 1995, Brady graduated from Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, where he participated in football, baseball, and basketball. Junior year, he was named the starting quarterback for his high school squad.
During his senior year, he created highlight videos and delivered them to prospective institutions. Midway through the 1990s, collegiate recruiting of athletes was significantly different. If Brady were to graduate high school today, he would be regarded as a four-star prospect.
In 1995, these rankings were not extensively utilised. Brady limited his collegiate options to Cal, UCLA, USC, Michigan, and Illinois. The Montreal Expos selected Brady in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft. Brady signed to play collegiate football for Michigan University.
The first two years of his undergraduate career, Brady was the backup quarterback (behind future NFL quarterback Brian Griese). Brady had difficulty gaining playing time. Ultimately, he started every game throughout the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
During his first full season as the starting quarterback, he established new Wolverine marks for throw attempts and completions. Michigan won twenty of the twenty-five games Brady started.
Despite a great collegiate career, he was not selected early in the draught. The New England Patriots selected Brady with the 199th overall choice in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
Brady is considered the greatest “steal” in the history of the NFL Draft due to his late selection. In his second season, he was named the team’s starting quarterback, and he remained with the Patriots for 20 years, an NFL record for most seasons as quarterback for one franchise.
He is one of just two quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl in his first season. He is the quarterback with the most victories in NFL history, and he never had a losing season as the Patriots’ starting quarterback.
He led the Patriots to the most division championships (16) of any quarterback in NFL history. With a postseason record of 30–11, he leads all NFL players in playoff victories and appearances.
Since 2011, Brady has guided the Patriots to a league-record eight straight AFC title games (and 13 overall). Additionally, Brady has been named to 14 Pro Bowls, tying the NFL record for most Pro Bowl choices.
For his apparent role in the Deflategate football tampering controversy, Brady was banned for the first four games of the 2016 season. Brady and the Patriots were victorious in two of the subsequent three Super Bowls.
Tom Brady stated in March 2020 that he was leaving the New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He apparently pays $70,000 per month to rent Derek Jeter’s opulent, custom-built beachfront property in Tampa.
Tom’s deal with Tampa Bay is worth at least $50 million over two years. Each year, he will get a $15 million basic pay plus a $10 million roster bonus.
The contract may be worth up to $60 million if certain conditions are met. Tom rejected a more lucrative offer from the Patriots because it was not entirely guaranteed.
From 2004 till the end of 2006, Brady dated actress Bridget Moynahan. Moynahan revealed to People magazine on February 18, 2007 that she was more than three months pregnant with Brady’s kid.
Around the time Moynahan got pregnant in early December 2006, Brady and Moynahan stopped their relationship. In August of 2007, John Edward Thomas Moynahan was born.
In December 2006, Brady began dating Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen. On a blind date, they were introduced by a common acquaintance. Brady and Bündchen were married in a simple ceremony at St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California on February 26, 2009.
The pair conducted a second ceremony in Costa Rica in April 2009. Their children were born in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
Transcendental Meditation, yoga, an 80/20 diet (meaning 80 percent alkaline and 20 percent acidic), an early bedtime, physical exercise, and neuroplasticity training are all part of Brady’s rigorous wellness programme.
He and his family subscribe to the controversial TB12 Method diet. He recommends consuming 1/32 of one’s body weight every day in water.
The majority of fruits, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, coffee, Gatorade, white sugar or flour, gluten, dairy, soda, cereal, white rice, potatoes, and bread are not consumed by him.
The yearly pay of Brady is $30 million. During his tenure with the Patriots from 2000 to 2019, Tom earned $230 million in pay alone. During the same time period, he made an additional $100 million or more via sponsorships.
During the same time span, Gisele Bündchen earned close to $500 million throughout her career.
At the conclusion of his two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he will have earned at least $280 million in pay and $140 million in endorsements. Therefore, Tom Brady’s lifetime earnings should surpass $420 million at the end of his career.
Real Estate Property
Tom and Gisele reduced the price of their Massachusetts house in early 2020. In 2019, the custom-built home in a gated neighbourhood in the Brookline suburb was listed for $40 million. The price of the 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom property was reduced to $33.9 million in January 2020.
In 2009, Tom and Gisele paid $9 million for an undeveloped parcel of property in the Brentwood district of Los Angeles.
They spent an extra $20 million over the following three years building a 14,000-square-foot mansion that they lived in for less than a year. In May of 2014, Dr. Dre paid them $50 million for the property. Not a terrible method for earning $21 million.
In 2018, Tom and Gisele purchased a New York City apartment on the 12th floor for $25.5 million. They sold this unit for $40 million in December 2020. The couple still has a smaller apartment in the same building.
