Travis Barker was born in Fontana, California on November 14, 1975 as Travis Landon Barker. His family consisted of his mother Gloria (a babysitter), father Randy (a mechanic), and two older sisters. Barker’s mother got him a drum set at age 4, and the next year he began attending tuition.
In junior high, Travis also learned how to play the piano and briefly participated in a choir. He pondered becoming a professional surfer or skateboarder, but ultimately decided that playing the drums was the greatest way for him to express himself.
