After a Successful Season 1, Will There Be a Pretty Smart Season 2?

Netflix’s newest sitcom in the manner of broadcast network comedies is called “Pretty Smart,” and it debuted in the beginning of October 2021. The standard living room sitcom set is used for filming, and the show’s straightforward humor is enhanced by the use of a laugh track.

When being dumped by her boyfriend, Chelsea (Emily Osment), an aspiring novelist with a refined background and a degree from Harvard, relocates to Los Angeles to live with her sister Claire (Olivia Macklin). Chelsea moves in with Claire after her boyfriend breaks up with her. Both Chelsea and Claire are complete polar opposites of each other.

Claire is an effervescent and carefree waitress who is as stunning as she is lacking in intellectual curiosity. Their relationship has been strained due to Chelsea’s condescending attitude toward Claire, which stems from her perception that Claire is less intelligent than she is. Naturally, as they continue to share living quarters, they grow even closer to one another.

And Chelsea gets closer to Claire’s roommates as well, including Jayden (Michael Hsu Rosen), a social media influencer, as well as Solana (Cinthya Carmona), a former lawyer turned New Age healer, and especially Grant (Gregg Sulkin), Claire’s hunky ex-boyfriend and Chelsea’s co-worker at a gym called Build.

The first season of “Pretty Smart” is a breezy and enjoyable comedy that stars a couple of actors who had previous success on Disney Channel (Osment and Sulkin). Here is what we know about a prospective second season of the show, as well as what we are willing to guess about it.

When will the second season of Pretty Smart be available to watch online?

As of the end of January 2022, Netflix had not yet decided whether or not to renew “Pretty Smart” for a second season. As a result, there is no release date that can be shared with the devoted fans of the novice sitcom series, nor is there any way to accurately guess when production on Season 2 would start up again.

We are also able to establish that the subsequent batch of episodes that could be delivered out by Netflix would in fact constitute a second season and not a second section of the series. There were a total of ten episodes of thirty minutes each that made up the first season of “Pretty Smart.” Each of these episodes was shot at Sunset Bronson Studios in Los Angeles, California.

Sometimes Netflix may release a season in “parts,” meaning that it will release the first half of a season and then the second half a few months later. It does not appear that this is the case with “Pretty Smart,” as the first season of the show is labeled on Netflix as “Season 1,” and not as “Part 1.” In the event that “Pretty Smart” is given a second season on Netflix, we should be given information regarding the release date as well as the episode order.

Who will be appearing in Pretty Smart Season 2?

Because the “Pretty Smart” show has not been renewed, it is currently unknown which cast members will be back for the show’s second season. Fans have a good cause to hope that the same actors from the first season would return for the second season given that there were no shocking deaths or exits in the finale of the first season.

This includes Cinthya Carmona, Gregg Sulkin, Olivia Macklin, and Michael Hsu Rosen. Emily Osment is also included in this group. And it’s possible that some of the recurring and guest cast will make an appearance as well, including Kevin Miles, who is better known for his role as Jake in State Farm, in the role of Dave, Claire’s ex-boyfriend; Geoff Ross, who plays Howard, the manager at the restaurant where Claire works; and Ming-Na Wen, who plays Jasmine, Jayden’s mother.

It’s possible that some of the people that work behind the scenes will come back as well. Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand, who previously collaborated on the television program “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” are the show’s creators as well as executive producers. Kourtney Kang, a veteran of “How I Met Your Mother” and the showrunner of “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” is also an executive producer.

She was instrumental in the creation of the show. Pamela Fryman, who directed three episodes of “Pretty Smart,” including the pilot, as well as the majority of episodes of “How I Met Your Mother,” is another executive producer.

Doors of Stone Release Date Officially Confirmed!

When could we expect to see a second season on Netflix?

According to whats-on-netflix, there can be no more speculating about a possible future release now that the series has been officially canceled.

What can you tell me about the storyline for Pretty Smart Season 2?

Claire (Olivia Macklin), played by Kevin Miles, ended the first season of “Pretty Smart” on a cliffhanger by breaking up with Dave (played by Grant), then kissing Grant (Gregg Sulkin).

Their kiss takes for just a fraction of a second before Chelsea (Emily Osment) enters the room and tells her sister that she needs to talk to her about wanting to pursue a relationship with Grant because they want to make sure it’s good with Claire first. What will the future hold for this complicated love triangle?

When we pick up with Season 2, this is most likely going to be the most important topic that needs to be discussed. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Osment stated, “I don’t know what’s going to happen in Season 2.” “As a result, I can’t wait to find out.”

Sulkin revealed that he did not have a preference for which sister Grant will be with in the upcoming second season. “There is a real sort of development and progress with Grant and Chelsea, and on the other side, there is a real sort of evolution and growth between Grant and Claire. On the one hand, there is a real charming innocence between Grant and Claire.

Grant has learned so much because to Chelsea… Since it’s so much fun to collaborate with either Olivia or Emily, I’ll be satisfied with the direction the authors go in regardless of which one they choose.

For the record, Michael Hsu Rosen and Cinthya Carmona said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that they support a romantic relationship between Grant and Chelsea. That’s undoubtedly where things are going to go, but before we get there, there will definitely be some family turmoil in Season 2 to keep things interesting in the meanwhile.
