Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara, one of the formidable middle orders in the test format, have a big question revolving around their careers. Rahane, who has recently scored a hundred in the Ranji trophy, has been struggling with poor form. However, Pujara and Rahane did have a decent outcome in Australia, but have remained inconsistent. While announcing the 18 members’ squad, India have decided to look with a future perspective in Shreyas Iyer and youngsters’ who have been given a chance to roll their sleeves in test cricket.

However, India have retained Umesh Yadav along side its core bowling attack comprising of Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, who will be wearing the hat of vice captain of the team, and Mohammad Siraj.
Kuldeep Yadav is making a comeback alongside Ravindra Jadeja as India will rely on their left-arm bowling.
