The first promotional video for Lifetime’s upcoming film The Gabby Petito Story has been made available online. The mysterious disappearance of Gabby Petito and her subsequent murder by Brian Laundrie, who was engaged to her, sent shockwaves through the world a year ago. The film is based on this event.
The month of October has been designated as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, hence Lifetime has decided to release the movie during this month. After the movie, the network will also run a documentary titled Beyond the Headlines: Gabby Petito. This documentary will provide a more in-depth look at the travel blogger’s troubled relationship with her fiance, and it will air immediately after the film.
The Trailer for the Gabby Petito Story
The characters of Gabby and Brian, played by Skyler Samuels and Evan Hall respectively, are shown at the opening of the trailer to be a blissfully in love couple. They make the decision to take their van on the road and travel around living out of it. As the preview progresses, their romantic connection begins to deteriorate, and Gabby can be heard saying things like, “One second I’m so happy and in love, and the next he’s like a total stranger.”
There is also a scene in which Gabby’s mother is shown advising her daughter that she has the uneasy feeling that “something is not right with Gabby and Brian’s connection.” On October 1, the movie is going to be released, which is almost exactly a year after Gabby met with her awful end. Check out the promo video down below.
The documentary was produced as a component of Lifetime’s “Stop Violence Against Women” campaign. The public service announcement that will incorporate a hotline for women will be produced by the network in collaboration with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
According to a statement released by Lifetime, “As the one-year anniversary of her tragic death approaches, the movie will bring to life Gabby and Brian’s doomed love story. This will include the warning signs that Gabby’s life was in danger, the subsequent search for her, the eventual discovery of her murder, and, ultimately, Brian’s suicide.”
Gabby’s fiance ended his own life after strangling her and then committing suicide
The Gabby Petito Story will investigate the tumultuous relationship that existed between Gabby and her fiance Brian Laundrie, as well as what may have gone wrong during their road trip across the country, which ultimately led to Gabby’s untimely death.
After Gabby did not return on a road trip with her fiance in September of the previous year, her parents filed a report with the authorities stating that she was missing. The journey was scheduled to end on July 22, 2021, even though it had started on July 2, 2021. The missing person was reported missing in the end of August, and sadly, her body was discovered in Wyoming on September 19th.
After one month, the remains of Brian were discovered at a park in the state of Florida. Before committing suicide by shooting himself in the head, he wrote in his notebook that he was responsible for Gabby’s death.

Others have criticized the network, arguing that it is too soon to make a film about the horrible event, despite the fact that several people have expressed their appreciation for the trailer. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the movie. Tell us in the next part, shall we?
