The Nashville police department detained American singer-songwriter Michelle Branch on suspicion of domestic abuse.
Variety reports that Branch’s three-year marriage to drummer Patrick of “The Black Keys” ended with the revelation of the arrest.
Branch’s spouse had been smacked in the face one or two times, according to court filings. Later, her bond was set at $1,000.
“I’m beyond upset, but that doesn’t even begin to capture how I feel about myself and my family. I’ve had the ground entirely yanked out from under me, and I now need to decide how to proceed. I need respect and discretion because I have such little children.” Branched said.
Before announcing their separation on Twitter, Branch accused Patrick of cheating on her at their 2019 wedding. A girl who was born earlier this year and a son who is four years old is the couple’s two children.
In the early 2000s, Branch’s best-selling albums “The Spirit Room” and “Hotel Paper” received a great deal of praise. She received a Grammy Award for pop vocal collaboration in 2022 for her duet with Santana, “The Game of Love.”
A branch is currently getting ready for the September 16 release of her fourth studio album, “The Trouble with Fever.” According to Variety, the musician has a tour scheduled for the fall that will make a visit to Webster Hall in New York City.
In a since-deleted post, singer Michelle Branch names her ‘cheating’ spouse
After three years of marriage, American singer-songwriter Michelle Branch and her husband Patrick Carney have decided to part ways.
The 39-year-old singer told TMZ in a statement today, “To say that I am absolutely crushed doesn’t even come close to defining how I feel for myself and for my family,” according to Page Six.
“The ground has been entirely torn out from under me, and I now need to decide how to proceed. I ask for discretion and consideration because I have such little children.
Branch claimed in a since-deleted tweet that she “just found out” her husband had cheated on her “when I was home with our 6-month-old kid” and provided other alarming information about the separation.
Rhys James, the couple’s son, is four years old, and Willie, their daughter, was born earlier this year.
Branch and Carney, the Black Keys drummer, first met in 2015 at a Grammy celebration, just as she was finalizing her divorce from ex-husband Teddy Landau. They were engaged two years later.
The singer, however, found out she was pregnant with their first child together as they were organizing their wedding. April 2018 marked the birth of Rhys James.
The Everywhere singer then said on Instagram, “Patrick and I are over the moon in love with our son Rhys James Carney.
The couple wed in the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans a year after welcoming their son.
The singer admitted to having a miscarriage in December 2020 when they attempted to grow their family once more.
While enjoying the holidays, she posted on social media, “I had my first miscarriage.” But sadly, I chose to put on makeup and a dress in between sobbing and binge-eating Christmas sweets.
We sipped champagne all day long. I cooked a fantastic lunch and we cuddled together and sang Christmas carols.”
The couple became pregnant again just a few months later, in August 2021, and delivered Willie Jacquet Carney, their second child.
