“Star Trek” at the New York Comic Con: “Discovery” Season 5’s First Look; Ronny Cox Joins “Prodigy”

Star Trek” dominated New York Comic Con on Saturday afternoon with a panel for the Paramount+ programs “Discovery,” “Prodigy,” and “Picard.” The session began by releasing the Season 5 teaser for “Star Trek: Discovery,” which was followed by a trailer for “Prodigy.”

Sonequa Martin-Green joined the NYCC panel to reveal the trailer for the Paramount+ series, which gives fans their first glimpse at Callum Keith Rennie’s new characters. Elias Toufexis, Eve Harlow, and Keith Rennie.

Rennie portrays Rayner, a battle-seasoned Starfleet captain who is at ease in combat. Harlow portrays Moll, a clever bandit who confronts the U.S.S. Discovery crew. Toufexis represents L’ak, Moll’s partner.


Cast members Anthony Rapp and Wilson Cruz, as well as executive producers Michelle Paradise, Alex Kurtzman, and Rod Roddenberry, participated in the “Discovery” NYCC panel.

The executive producers of Paramount+’s animated children’s series “Star Trek: Prodigy,” Kevin and Dan Hageman, unveiled a new teaser for the series. Ronny Cox will reprise his “The Next Generation” role as Edward Jellico, now an Admiral in Starfleet, in a recurring role on the series, it was confirmed.

Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray, and Jameela Jamil joined the Hageman, Kurtzman, and Roddenberry, along with executive producer Ben Hibon, to reveal new footage from the animated series “Prodigy.”

On October 27, “Prodigy” will return for its midseason premiere, kicking off the 10-episode second half of Season 1.
