Sydney Sweeney is fed up with trolls taking screenshots of her sex scenes in Euphoria and naming her family members in them.
In a recent interview with British GQ, the 25-year-old Don’t Worry Darling actress discussed the very real difficulties of being famous and gorgeous, including having your nude scenes captured and re-uploaded by internet trolls.
Sweeney told the magazine, “It reached a point where they began tagging my relatives.” “My cousins do not require this. It is utterly revolting and unjust. You have a character who experiences the scrutiny of being a sexualized person at school, as well as an audience that experiences the same scrutiny.”
Sweeney has previously stated that the sex scenes on the show boosted her body confidence. And despite the efforts of trolls, Sweeney stated that she will not hide: “I am an artist who portrays several characters. It makes me want to play antagonistic characters even more.”
She also lauded Sam Levinson, the creator of Euphoria, whom she “trusts so much” with her character, Cassie. “As an actress, it feels great to be able to trust the director because it really transforms the experience,” she continued.
Recently, Sweeney has been occupied with more and larger roles. Since June, the actress and Dakota Johnson have been filming in Boston for the upcoming Spiderman spinoff series Madame Web. She is also slated to executive produce and star in Sony Pictures’ remake of the 1968 classic Barbarella, in which Jane Fonda rose to fame as the starring actor.
