Since Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death in August 2020, the future of the Black Panther film series has been fraught with difficulty. Fans have questioned whether or not the films can continue without T’Challa. In addition, production on the next sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been plagued by a series of setbacks.
The good news is that work on Black Panther 2 is still going strong. Fans are eager for any and every information they can get their hands on before the movie’s planned premiere. Who will play the villainous role in this sequel now that the bad guy from the previous film has been killed off?
It has been revealed that a whole new character from Marvel’s comics will be making their debut in the position. This is everything we can tell you about him at the moment.
Who Plays the Bad Guy in “Black Panther 2”?
As of this writing, Namor McKenzie, aka Sub Mariner, King of Atlantis, is widely believed to be playing the film’s antagonist. Screen Rant claims that T’Challa and Namor do not get along, therefore tensions between Wakanda and Atlantis have been building for some time. They hit it off at first when they met in Rising of the Black Panther 2. They also cooperated to track down criminals who had left the city below the waves.
T’Challa had doubts about Namor’s trustworthiness despite the fact that they had previously had a productive working relationship. When Namor assaulted Wakanda in Avengers vs. X-Men, his worst fears were realized.
It has been said that Namor, along with his cousin Namora, would feature in the next sequel to the Black Panther film series.
Who Exactly is This Man Known as Namor?
Namor is much more than simply the ruler of Atlantis. His sad past is what gives him motivation, as is the case with most MCU characters. His Marvel.com bio reveals that the charismatic leader we know today wasn’t always present. Leonard McKenzie, a human sailor, had offspring with Fen, the daughter of the Atlantean Emperor.
A meeting between Leonard and Fen occurs in the 1920s when the former is searching for the legendary Helmet of Power. As a result of his carelessness, Atlantis, the lost metropolis, is damaged by an avalanche. Fen initially meets Leonard when her dad sends her on an investigation.

Fen stays on board the ship, where she and Leonard finally tie the knot. Sadly, an Atlantean rescue mission killed everyone on board when they mistook Leonard and his crew for kidnappers. Even after being sent back to Atlantis, she manages to give birth to Namor.
Namor, even as an adult and a hero, has a temper and distrusts “surface-dwellers.” Throughout his career, he sometimes teamed up with members of various hero teams, including The Illuminati.
The Majority of Cast Members Will Reprise Their Roles. Seek Out Newcomers as Well!
Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Martin Freeman as CIA agent Everett K. Ross will presumably return, but the cast has not yet been announced.
The head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has dismissed rumors that Michael B. Jordan would reprise his role as Killmonger as “pure gossip.”
There have been rumors that Tenoch Huerta, star of the Netflix series Narcos, may appear in the film as an adversary, however, the nature of his involvement is unclear.
In the Sequel “Black Panther,” We Also See the Warlord Attuma Make a Cameo!
It has been speculated that more Atlanteans than Namor will appear in Black Panther 2. The Atlantean warlord Attuma may potentially make an appearance. According to The Direct, he will reportedly play a significant role in the next sequel.
A picture of what seems to be Attuma’s film design has been circulating on Twitter, although this is unconfirmed. People think he’s the real bad guy in Black Panther 2, but they can’t prove it. Tweets like “I really hope Attuma is the evil guy and not Namor” may be found online. It was intended to be Namor, a respondent said.
The sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will be released in cinemas on November 11, 2022, although the first film is now available on Disney Plus.
