In the trailer for the fifth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, June can be heard saying, “I want her to know it was me.” Her remarks have a direct affect on Serena, which is something that we will explore in a bit more detail in our analysis of The Handmaid’s Tale season 5 trailer! As the fifth season trailer for Hulu’s dystopian drama suggests, The Handmaid’s Tale will be returning soon, and according to the teaser, June will be preparing for a fight when the show returns. In this show, the main character goes up against Serena, the one who used to mistreat her.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Trailer, which was released on a Thursday, gives the impression that Offred and Moira will once more be on opposing sides of the struggle. This is despite the fact that Offred and Moira have shared moments of alliance during the course of the series. Let’s examine The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Trailer together to see what it has to offer.
The Handmaid’s Tale season 5 Release Date
God bless, according to digitalspy! We finally have an official date for when season five will be out. On September 14, 2022, the new season will start on Hulu with a two-part episode. That’s the US release date, of course. There’s no date set for the UK yet, but as with previous seasons, it will come out soon after on Channel 4.
Hulu also gave a short summary of what to expect: “June has to deal with the consequences of killing Commander Waterford while trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to do with her life.”
“Serena, who lost her husband, is trying to make a name for herself in Toronto as Gilead’s influence spreads into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as he tries to change Gilead and get more powerful. June, Luke, and Moira fight Gilead from afar as they continue to try to save Hannah and get back together with her. The show was filmed in Ontario, Canada, which is where it usually is.
A filming notice for the Brantford area said that a show called Ruby Road would be filming there from the middle of February to the middle of March. People think that The Handmaid’s Tale is being made under the name Ruby Road (because the Handmaids’ cloaks are red, get it?)
Brantford is one of the many places in Ontario that the show has used in the past. A second notice said that filming would take place on several streets and at a private home. They promised to keep the noise down for the sake of the neighbours (at least during the evenings).
Ann Dowd, who plays Aunt Lydia, told The Independent in the past that filming would start in February 2022. On February 9, Amanda Brugel also posted a video of herself back on set. The video was labelled “season 5” and showed a chair with Rita’s name on it.
The trailer for the fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale
June killed Serena’s husband, Fred Waterford, in the season 4 finale, and June claims that she still believes that “Gilead is attempting to pull her back” even though she has managed to escape and has returned with her partner, Luke, as The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Trailer shows. This makes the conflict between June and Serena both global and personal.
They are currently making their home in the calm waters of the adjacent country of Canada. But her claims were backed up by a picture of her lover Nick, who is a current Commander and the father of her youngest kid. This indicates that she is prepared to go back to the nation once more.
In the trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale season 5, June can be heard saying, “I want her to know it was me.” June continues by asserting that “Serena is aware that the entire world is watching her,” hinting that she is planning something international that will change Serena’s fate. She sees Serena acting as if she is distraught, and June claims that “Serena is aware that the entire world is watching her.”
A picture of a sad Serena has been shown on TV screens, and viewers can get a brief glimpse of Serena smiling, indicating that she is genuinely relieved that her husband is no longer alive. This is shown by the fact that Serena is shown smirking in the picture.
Luke provides the piece of advice that “She can’t get to you, so you’ve simply got to forget about her,” but June has determined to go there anyhow. The conclusion of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Trailer is a statement that makes it abundantly clear that Gilead will not ignore June, a former Handmaid, for killing her Commander. At the same time that June is comforting Nichole, Luke can be seen being carried away, and it appears that our primary characters have nothing but disaster in store for them.
At the very end of the video, June vows that she is going to fight, and the video then concludes with a rendition of Fighter by Christina Aguilera, hyping up all of the viewers. The conclusion of Season 5 left June’s fate unresolved, which means that anything is still a possibility at this point. Would June go and put her brand new independence in jeopardy? The trailer for the upcoming fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale suggests that she will.
Despite the fact that she will be punished for her role in the death of Commander Waterford, June is focusing on redefining who she is and what her role is in Season 5. Both Serena, who is now a widow, and Commander Lawrence work together with Aunt Lydia in an effort to advance their respective careers in Toronto. The trailer for the upcoming fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale can be viewed down below.
A Recap of the Fourth Season of “The Handmaid’s Tale”
In the conclusion of Season 4, Fred is taken into custody under duress right before he is about to leave for Geneva, and he is informed that he has been deemed ineligible for mercy. June’s efforts appear to have been successful.
Fred finds out that they have arrived in Gilead and that he will be participating in a prisoner exchange. Fred, who is in a state of terror, says that God would judge Mark for his evil coveting of the land that Gilead has pledged to put him on trial for using their judicial system. Lawrence greets Fred, stating that Gilead is relieved to see him, and June makes her way through the trees just as Nick informs Fred that they have arrived in No Man’s Land. Lawrence claims that Gilead is relieved to see Fred.
After giving her a kiss and leaving, Nick walks away, leaving Fred and her with each other while June blows a whistle. Emerging from the shadows are a swarm of additional Gilead refugee women. When Fred eventually falls down while jogging, June pounces on him with a crazy expression on her face and proceeds to beat him.
That morning, June leaves the woodland feeling cheerful, but when she returns home and Luke sees her with a bloody face, he passes out and falls to the ground. When a mail carrier opens a box for Serena, a wedding ring and Fred’s severed finger fall out, and the body of Fred is seen hanging over a wall that has been spray-painted.
The Differences Between the Fourth and Fifth Seasons of “The Handmaid’s Tale”
At long last, one of our most formidable adversaries has passed away, and Season 5 will be very different from Season 4. While Lawrence dealt with the issue of Gilead’s secrets being revealed, Mark won the battle for control of the information and the Gilead prisoners. But what are the repercussions for Gilead of the unapproved execution? Will June ever be able to move on? And what options does she have if Luke chooses not to forgive her? The upcoming fifth season will undoubtedly provide responses to all of these questions.
