Beckham has been a Patriots fan favorite since Tom Brady was the quarterback. Even after his release from the Cleveland Browns, New England was one of the clubs fighting for his services last season. Bill Belichick even phoned Beckham directly, almost getting him to sign with the Patriots before he chose the Rams.

“A coach like Bill Belichick, whom we’ve all idolized for years, and I’ve seen and thought, ‘Man, one day I’ll play for Bill Belichick.’ What more could I want than for him to contact me and talk football?” In February, Beckham stated. “So I came near. Beckham’s choice to join the Rams paid off as he went on to win his first Super Bowl. However, he tore his ACL in that game over the Cincinnati Bengals, which is likely why he is still unsigned.
