Mats Wilander believes that Novak Djokovic’s visa fiasco in Australia can tarnish the Serb’s public image, which was already very fragile.
Novak Djokovic’s visa to enter Australia was cancelled a few hours after he came in Melbourne with a medical exemption. He failed to provide an evidence to support his exemption which thus lead to the cancellation of his visa by Australian Border Forces.
Djokovic’s lawyers had secured a hearing for Monday, challenging the cancellation. Their claim is that their client contracted COVID-19 recently and was also given permission to enter Australia quarantine-free.
But unfortunately for the Serb, prior infection has not been considered as a valid reason for unvaccinated individuals such as himself to enter the country.
