According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE Superstar Cesaro has parted ways with the company. This report is backed up by a Tweet from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, who appears to confirm the Swiss competitor’s departure.

Cesaro is supposedly free to sign with whoever he wants because his contract has expired and he is no longer bound by any non-compete clause.
Cesaro last competed on SmackDown on February 11th, losing to Happy Baron Corbin. The Swiss Superman had only wrestled 5 matches in 2022, all of which he had lost – teaming with Ricochet for a loss to Sheamus and Ridge Holland on WWE Day 1, teaming with Mansoor for a Fatal 4 Way loss to The Viking Raiders on the January 14 SmackDown, teaming with Ricochet for two Day 1 rematch losses on the January 28 and February 4 SmackDown shows, and then losing to Corbin on February 11.
Cesaro is being released into one of the hottest eras of pro wrestling in a long time, with AEW, NJPW, and a number of indies consistently producing stellar matches.
Some of Cesaro’s best opponents are also on the way back to relive some of his former glory, with some fans already hoping for the return of the Kings of Wrestling (his team with Chris Hero). If all of this is true and Cesaro leaves WWE, wrestling fans are in for a treat.
